Isis Maria Niedecken (b. 1994, Cologne) is a Berlin-based artist whose work transforms moments of everyday life into vibrant visual compositions of color, rhythm, and intimacy. After studying fashion design and working in the creative industry, she shifted her focus fully to painting in 2020 - a transition that allowed her to follow a more instinctive, emotion-driven approach to making art. Her background in design continues to inform her sensitivity to composition, tone, and pattern, while her paintings explore the poetry of the ordinary: meals shared at home, light falling through a window, objects that carry memory.

Living and working in Berlin with her partner and son, Niedecken has developed a distinct visual language grounded in warmth, immediacy, and human connection. Music plays a central role in her creative process, serving both as inspiration and emotional guide.

For her latest series Mixtape, this relationship between sound and image takes center stage. Each painting functions as a “track“, a visual response to songs that have shaped her emotional landscape. The series mirrors the freedom and intimacy of a musical mixtape: unpolished, honest, and deeply personal. Through these works, Niedecken extends her ongoing exploration of joy, rhythm, and everyday beauty into a dialogue with sound. Translating melody into color, and feeling into form.

Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows, including NBB Gallery and Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, and featured in collaborations and limited editions. She continues to share her evolving practice widely, bridging art, design, and the emotional resonance of lived experience.
